LENDING PROFESSIONALS’ OPINION ON THE IMPACT OF ECONOMIC CRISES ON RISK MODEL ACCURACY
The purpose of this research is to better understand the opinions of lending experts on the impact of a global economic crisis on lending risk models. Events resulting in an economic crisis, such as COVID-19, can result in negative economic consequences that may impact the ability of lendees to repay their loans. Limited research exists evaluating the pandemic's impact on lenders' financial risk, indicating a significant gap in model adjustment processes to account for shifts in risk model variable distributions. This research can help financial institutions better understand how an economic crisis might impact risk models, providing an opportunity to evaluate risk model efficacy.
